Blender or food processor? I can only invest in one. which one should I get?

i do both blending and would process food, if I had one. I sold my blender to some Indian guy on Craigs cuz I thought I didn’t need it. DOH! now I’m thinkin…maybe I should get a food processor.

Definitely go with the food processor. If you get the nice kind with several blade types you’ll be able to blend too. I have a processor but no blender – and I still make smoothies all the time! It works great, plus I can still make all the salsas and other yummy foods a processor comes in handy for.

I have a blender and rarely use it. I also want a food processor. I have a magic bullet that works well for making salsa, grating cheese and a few other things but I really think I should have invested in a good food processor instead. You can chop things in a blender, but it’s really not the same.

Food processor. Make sure you get one with changeable blades and it will not only function as a blender and food processor but also for shredding cheese and veggies.

I had only a food processor for a long time….take it from me, invest in a blender and keep your box grater and a couple good sharp knives around for prepping food. It might take a little longer to do some things, but you just can’t blend all that much liquid in a food processor.

blenders are useful for daiquiris. food processors are useful for some jobs, like making a puree. i had a kitchenade blender and it broke after about 5 years. replaced it with a magic bullet, which makes daiquiris quite well. don’t spend too much on a blender.

A Food Processor will do more things for you. Plus it blends.

A food processor will serve you in many ways if you invest in a good one , it chops, blends, grinds, liquefy ,shred, grate, I rarely use my blender anymore .

try a combo it has the same base but a normal blender and a small processor. I had one like this for the longest time. It worked well. Some things you need a blender for and some things you need a processor for. They aren’t really interchangeable.

Food processors do blend but it depends on the amount of food you have it in relation to it’s size. If your making things for one or two people it might not blend to well like it would in a blender in my experience. I had a Cuisinart but look for a brand thats rated how you like.

Blenders are best when working with liquids and Food Processors are best when working with solids. May ask yourself which do you want to use it more for…cooking or blending drinks? Not to say though you cant blend a drink in the process just has it down sides is all. I found info on the pros and con of each that answer this question pretty good. I included it below. Hope it helps!

A food processor is more flexible & does larger batches.
