Deciding between a 120v 1400w oven and a 220v 2400w oven for a commercial kitchen, any thoughts?
Both ovens are convection and going to be used to bake pies, pastries and empanadas.

You know everyone always goes for the larger wattage….But I always consider how much electricity it will take to run this larger oven..and what my electric bill will be at month end…And if the end justifies the means…………
There is so much more to consider here than just the size…..

The other fellow is right, as they are similar they are not going last the same amount of time, commercial equipment is built to stand up to the wear and tear of a professional kitchen, temperatures and the strain on the oven will ruin the 120 v one quickly.

All the chefs I know use gas as it’s more controllable

I have a small 120 Volt convection oven that I use for almost everything. Unfortunately it isn’t made anymore. I got it at Sears about 30 years ago. My son has kept the thing working but when it dies, I may as well too. I love that thing.
For home use the 120V 1400W oven will be fine. Although the ones I’ve checked out are not as well made as my oldie. If you are looking for an oven for a commercial kitchen, get the 220 V oven.
